If you do not qualify for visa-free entry, you will need to apply for a standard tourist visa (L Visa) at the Chinese embassy or consulate in your home country. China is a vast country with diverse climates. Generally, Spring (April to May) and Autumn (September to October) are the best times to visit, offering pleasant weather and stunning scenery across most regions. We highly recommend avoiding China’s major public holidays—specifically the “Labor Day” holiday in the first week of May and the “National Day” Golden Week in the first week of October—to ensure a more comfortable and less crowded travel experience.

China is essentially a cashless society powered by mobile payments. We strongly advise downloading “Alipay” or “WeChat” before your trip and linking your international credit card (Visa/Mastercard). While large international hotels, high-end restaurants, and some duty-free shops accept physical credit cards, and the law requires merchants to accept Chinese Yuan (RMB) in cash, using mobile payments for everyday purchases, dining, and street food will be significantly more convenient.

Mainland China’s internet infrastructure restricts direct access to certain Western websites and applications, including Google, Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and WhatsApp. To stay in touch with family or use familiar mapping apps, we recommend purchasing an eSIM with international roaming before your departure or installing a reliable and legal VPN (Virtual Private Network) on your devices prior to arrival.

Staff at star-rated hotels and major attractions in Tier-1 cities (like Beijing and Shanghai) usually speak basic English, but English is less common in smaller cities or rural areas. If you book a guided tour with us, you will be accompanied by a professional bilingual guide for a seamless experience. For your free time, we recommend downloading an offline translation app and asking the hotel reception to write down your destination addresses in Chinese characters to show to taxi drivers.

You can feel safe walking in the cities, even at night. However, as with any popular tourist destination globally, it is always wise to keep an eye on your personal belongings in crowded areas to prevent pickpocketing.

China boasts the world’s largest and most advanced High-Speed Rail (HSR) network. Taking the bullet train is the most comfortable, punctual, and scenic way to travel between major hubs like Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi’an. For long-distance journeys (such as traveling to Tibet, Xinjiang, or Yunnan), domestic flights are the most efficient option. All necessary domestic transportation is seamlessly arranged in our tour packages.

Our standard tour packages generally include: all domestic transportation within China (flights or high-speed trains), carefully selected star-rated hotel accommodations, professional English-speaking (or multilingual) guide services, entrance fees for all attractions listed in the itinerary, and specific meals (such as daily hotel breakfast and welcome dinners). International round-trip flights, visa application fees, personal travel insurance, and personal expenses are typically excluded.

Typically, cancellations made more than 30 days before the start of the trip are eligible for a full refund (minus any cancellation fees already incurred for issued domestic train or flight tickets). Tipping is not a part of traditional Chinese culture, and it is not expected in local restaurants, taxis, or hotels. However, in the inbound tourism industry, it has become a standard practice to tip your tour guides and drivers as a gesture of appreciation for their excellent service. The standard voltage in China is 220V. The power outlets most commonly accept Type A (two flat parallel pins) and Type I (three flat pins in a triangular pattern). If your devices use a different plug type or are strictly 110V (like some appliances from North America), you will need to bring an international universal plug adapter and a voltage converter.
