Overview
This 3-day Dali tour combines the ancient Bai culture of the old city with the lakeside landscapes of Erhai and the mountain trails of the Cangshan range. Beginning at the Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple, you explore the stone streets and shop-lined alleys of Dali Ancient City before venturing out to the surrounding villages and waterfront that define this corner of Yunnan.
Day two takes you on a full circuit of Erhai Lake, visiting the well-preserved Xizhou Ancient Town, watching artisans at the Zhoucheng Village tie-dye workshops, and walking the S-Bay Viewpoint in time for sunset over the water. A private yacht on Erhai Lake and jeep photography along the shore round out a day spent entirely at the lake’s edge.
On the third day, the Cangshan National Geological Park provides a change of scale and terrain. The Jade Belt Cloud Roaming Trail offers elevated views of the lake below, while a visit to the Flower Farm closes the tour on a colourful note. Throughout the journey, local Bai-style accommodation and a programme of ethnic specialty dining — from Rubing cheese to the traditional three-courses-of-tea ceremony — keep the cultural focus consistent from arrival to departure.
